Inter have officially signed Fiorentina left-back Cristiano Biraghi on loan with an option to buy.

Biraghi confirmed he had made the move last night, but only now has it been announced by Inter.

The 26-year-old returns to San Siro on a temporary basis for the remainder of the season.

The Nerazzurri will then have the option to make his stay permanent for a reported €12m.

He is also understood to have agreed a five-year contract worth around €2m after tax.

Biraghi began his career at Inter but was frequently loaned out and did not establish himself in Serie A until he joined Pescara in 2016.

He went on to assert himself as a top-level performer in two seasons with Fiorentina, breaking into the Italy squad during that time.

The defender replaces Dalbert on the Beneamata’s left flank after the Brazilian moved in the opposite direction.
