Inter have officially confirmed that young defender Tomas Palacios has joined fellow Serie A side Monza on loan for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

Official: Palacios moves from Inter to Monza

The 21-year-old centre-back will join Salvatore Bocchetti’s side on a straight loan deal with no buy option attached for the remainder of the campaign. He will return to San Siro in the summer regardless of what happens over the next few months.

The young Argentine becomes the first player to leave or join Inter in the January transfer window. The Nerazzurri are also close to sending wing-back Tajon Buchanan out on loan to LaLiga side Villarreal.

Palacios joined Simone Inzaghi’s side in the summer transfer window for a fee of around €6.5m from Independiente Rivadavia in Argentina. As a left-footer, the club saw him as an understudy and long-term heir to Italy international Alessandro Bastoni.

He has, however, not had many opportunities at senior level since joining the Nerazzurri, appearing for just 10 minutes across two substitute appearances in Serie A so far.
