According to recent reports, the deal also comes with an option to extend for a further year, until the summer of 2029.

Asllani is currently one of the lowest earners on the Nerazzurri roster, taking home an annual salary just shy of €1m per season, according to updates from Calciomercato.com.

The Albania international is now into his third full season in San Siro, having joined in a €15m deal from Empoli, originally signing on loan with an option to buy. He has 46 Serie A appearances to his name over that period, scoring his only Nerazzurri goal in a 2-1 win over Genoa last season.

He made his first start of the 2024-25 campaign in the 1-1 draw with Monza on Sunday evening. Simone Inzaghi opted to deploy him as the direct replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu in the deep-lying midfield role.

Asllani is expected to be part of the travelling squad for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Manchester City.
