Inter have officially announced the signing of Ecuadorian forward Felipe Caicedo on loan from Genoa.
The 33-year-old striker has joined the club as a backup option for coach Simone Inzaghi, who knows him well from their years together in the Italian capital with Lazio. Caicedo has scored one goal in nine Serie A appearances this season for Genoa.
As announced by Inter, Caicedo has joined the Nerazzurri on a six-month loan deal from Genoa. It’s likely that a buy option has been included, although this has not been confirmed.
During his time in Rome under Inzaghi, Caicedo made 139 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 6241 minutes. In that time, he scored 33 goals and provided 15 assists, including a number of key last-minute winners.
He will likely be used as a rotation option by the Inter coach and he could make his debut for the club in their upcoming derby against Milan on February 5, after the international break.

This signing reeks of Marotta. It’s like when Juve’s paper-thin midfield was crying out for quality reinforcements in 2017 and he signed Rincon. Still don’t understand why the majority of Juve fans are so obsessed with him- sure he built up the great MVPP midfield, but he swiftly dismantled it and didn’t bother replacing it. The end of his tenure was straight-up shambolic- I mean, 30 million on a 30 year old Matuidi with one year left on his contract?????
