Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been ruled out of tomorrow’s Serie A clash against Atalanta due to ‘acute low back pain.’
Napoli released an official statement after today’s training session at Castel Volturno, saying that the 21-year-old won’t be available against Atalanta tomorrow.
Amir Rrahmani is also out of action and trained in the gym today, continuing his recovery program.
It is still unclear how long Kvara will be forced to the sidelines, but it is undoubtedly a huge blow for the Partenopei ahead of a key fixture against the second-placed team in Serie A.
Kvaratskhelia has been arguably Serie A’s best player this season, contributing to six goals and seven assists in 12 league games.
He has also scored two goals and delivered three assists in five Champions League matches.
The Georgia international has only missed one match this term, a Champions League meeting with Rangers at the Stadio Maradona. The Partenopei had already qualified for the Round of 16 with two games to spare and still won the match 3-0.
