The World Cup winner turns 42 later this month and takes over a Brescia side inside the relegation zone after seven losses in 10 games this season, which led to the dismissal of Corini.

However, they do have a game in hand, to be played against Sassuolo in December.

Grosso had to first come to an agreement with Hellas Verona to terminate his contract, which had remained in force since his dismissal on May 1.

Verona have mutually agreed to termite the contract with Fabio Grosso,” Verona wrote in a statement on their official website.

“The Gialloblu wish him the best of luck in the future and in his career as a coach.”

Grosso starts his tenure with a home game against Torino this Saturday, looking to end a run of three defeats in a row.

His previous jobs were at the Juventus youth teams, Serie B side Bari and then Verona in 2018-19, but he was sacked by Hellas despite taking them to the promotion play-offs.
