Granada have officially triggered the option to buy Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons and signed a deal until June 2023 with the Frenchman.
Gonalons, capped seven times by France, moves on a €4m transfer to the La Liga club, after having spent last season at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes on loan.
Granada finished seventh in La Liga 2019-20 and will play in the Europa League qualifiers next season.
Gonalons played 19 matches in the League and scored once for the club in the Copa del Rey, helping the club to the semi-finals of the competition.

“Maxime Gonalons will continue to wear red and white,” the club wrote in an official statement. “The French player, who played for Granada last season on loan from AS Roma with an option to buy, will remain at the club until 2023.”
The 31-year-old arrived at Roma from Olympique Lyonnais in July 2017, but has spent the last two season on loan at Sevilla and Granada.
