Napoli confirm the acquisition of Pierluigi Gollini on loan with an option to buy from Atalanta, while Salvatore Sirigu joins Fiorentina on a permanent transfer.

The Partenopei and the Tuscans have confirmed that Sirigu has moved to the Artemio Franchi on a permanent, free transfer. At the same time, Gollini has ended his loan in Tuscany, joining Napoli on loan with an option to buy from Atalanta.

“ACF Fiorentina is pleased to announce that Salvatore Sirigu is now a Fiorentina player. The 36-year-old has been signed on a permanent deal from SSC Napoli,” Fiorentina said in a statement.

“Born in Nuoro, Sardinia on 12 January 1987, the well-travelled goalkeeper has plied his trade for Palermo, Paris Saint-Germain, Sevilla, Osasuna, Torino and Genoa, among other clubs.

“Sirigu has 28 Italy caps to his name and was a member of the Azzurri squad that won Euro 2020.

“Meanwhile Pierluigi Gollini has returned to Atalanta after his loan was terminated.”

Sirigu had joined Napoli on a free transfer last summer but never played under Luciano Spalletti.

Gollini, 27, conceded eight goals in nine appearances in Florence, keeping four clean sheets.
