Olivier Giroud has officially extended his contract with Milan, just hours after securing their place in the Champions League semi-final.

The 36-year-old France international joined the Rossoneri in the summer of 2021 from Chelsea and was instrumental in last season’s Scudetto victory.

His current deal was due to expire on June 30, but he put pen to paper on a new contract this afternoon that will keep him at San Siro at least until June 2024.

Giroud scored the decisive goal last night in the Champions League quarter-final against Napoli, after seeing his penalty parried by Alex Meret in that 1-1 draw.

It sent Milan through 2-1 on aggregate, where they will face either Inter or Benfica.

The veteran has scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 38 competitive matches for Milan this season.

Since moving to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, he has contributed 27 goals and 10 assists in 76 official matches.
