Djed Spence is officially a new Genoa player, making the move from Tottenham on loan with an option to buy as part of the Radu Dragusin transfer.

The defender arrived late last night in the port city to undergo his medical and put pen to paper on the contracts.

A formal statement from Genoa confirms that there is an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, that option is worth €10m and does not have any obligation tied to appearances for the Serie A side.

Spence’s loan is part of the deal that took Dragusin from Genoa to Tottenham for €25m plus another €6m in add-ons.

The reason for the image of him throwing a punch is a reference to 1970s Italian movie star Bud Spencer, who with classic partner Terrence Hill would churn out fan favourite knockabout comedies and westerns.
