Genoa have officially signed midfielder Abdoulay Konko from Spanish side Sevilla, beating Juventus to the punch.

The Bianconeri were interested in bringing the Frenchman back to Serie A following his stint at Siena.

However, Genoa convinced both the player and Sevilla to make the move to Marassi instead.

It has been officially announced that Konko has joined Genoa on a permanent basis and he has already undergone his first training session.

However, Genoa convinced both the player and Sevilla to make the move to Marassi instead.

It has been officially announced that Konko has joined Genoa on a permanent basis and he has already undergone his first training session.

This is a return for the 26-year-old, who already wore the Genoa jersey in 2007-08, but was sold to Sevilla for €9m.

He will be available for selection from next week's Serie A match with Parma, but so far no financial details have been released.
