Genoa have announced the arrivals of Poland Under-21 attacker Filip Jagiello and sporting director Stefano Capozucca.

Jagiello signed a four-year contract with Genoa on January 31 but returned to Zaglebie Lubin on loan for the remainder of last season.

The Grifone have paid €1.2m for the 21-year-old, who recently helped Poland beat Italy 1-0 in the European Under-21 Championship.

He seems to have a similar profile to Krzysztof Piatek but is an attacking midfielder as opposed to a centre-forward, although he can play as a second striker.

Jagiello, who scored three goals and provided six assists in the 2018-19 Ekstraklasa, was linked with Juventus and Ajax earlier in his career.

Capozucca, meanwhile, returns after spending eight years as sporting director of Genoa between 2004 and 2012, before filling the same role at both Livorno and Cagliari.

Last season, he was employed by Frosinone as their strategic advisor.

They are expected to be joined by left-back Antonio Barreca, who underwent a medical on Wednesday.
