Genoa have officially announced the arrival of Salvatore Sirigu, as the goalkeeper has moved on a free transfer to the Marassi.

The 34-year-old spent the summer with the Azzurri but has returned to start preparing for the new season and the reported move to Genoa is now official.

The Sardinian shot stopper was released by Torino and has signed a one-year deal with the Grifone with an option for a further year.

“Salvatore Sirigu, who graduated this summer as European Champion with the national team, is a new Genoa player,” the club wrote in a statement.

Sirigu, who has previous stints with Palermo, Paris Saint-Germain, Sevilla and Osasuna, has played 210 Serie A games, keeping 55 clean sheets during his time with Palermo and Torino in the Italian top flight.
