Alessandro Florenzi has officially completed his transfer to Milan, on loan with option to buy from Roma for a total €5m.

The Italy international has signed a contract with the Rossoneri to June 2022 and will wear the shirt number 25 at San Siro.

It’s widely reported the one-season loan will cost €1m, with the option to buy set at a further €4m.

The 30-year-old plays primarily as a right-back, but can also work on the left, in midfield or in more advanced wide roles.

Florenzi was born and raised in the Roma academy, a lifelong Giallorossi supporter, but had been sent out on loan to Valencia and then PSG over the last couple of campaigns.

He was part of the Italy squad that won the UEFA EURO 2020 trophy over the summer.

Florenzi is hoping to make his Milan debut in Monday’s Serie A trip to Sampdoria.

In his career, he has accumulated 227 Serie A appearances, scoring 25 goals and providing 29 assists.

4 thought on “Official: Florenzi signs for Milan”
  1. Astute signing. I would like to see him on the right attacking flank. He’s a fine crosser of the ball and with his work rate, he will do a fine job in covering Calabria when the right back darts forward. It would be a very solid partnership down the right.

  2. We need an attacking right winger. Florenzi should alternate with Calabria at right-back.

Excellent signing for the experience and low price.

  3. Totally agree Bruno. He’s like a 3 for 1 signing with his his experience and tactical versatility. He will be a fine asset to Pioli and the young team for sure and as recent as last season he was a CL semi finalist and Euro 2020 winner. I think he’ll be a good fit in the group dynamic as well. Excellent signing by M&M. In bocca al lupo, Forza Milan!

  4. Smart move by Milan. His strength is his versatility. Equally more impressive considering how little they’ve spent on getting him to the club.
