Fiorentina have officially signed Lucas Torreira on loan from Arsenal with an option to buy for a total €16.5m.
The 25-year-old Uruguay international completed his medical yesterday and put pen to paper on the contract this afternoon.
It’s reported the cost of the operation is €1.5m for the one-season loan, with an option to make the move permanent for a further €15m.
This is a return to Serie A for Torreira, who spent most of his career in Italy, joining the Pescara youth team in January 2014 and going on through Sampdoria before his €28.65m move to Arsenal in 2018.
He never settled in England and spent last season with Atletico Madrid on loan.
Despite Roma and Lazio interest, Torreira opted for Fiorentina and for the first time in his career will wear shirt number 18.

Finally a decent signing by la Viola. Now we need another decent attacking midfielder and we could be in business
