Fiorentina have officially announced the signing of Morocco international midfielder Amir Richardson on a permanent transfer from Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims.
Official: Fiorentina sign Richardson from Reims
According to recent reports, La Viola agreed to pay a fee of around €10m with a future sell-on clause set at 10%.
The 22-year-old had plenty of interest heading into the summer window, including from Ajax and several Premier League clubs in Tottenham, Leicester City and Everton.
He has spent his summer in competitive action for Morocco at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, where he and his international teammates were defeated 2-1 by eventual gold medal winners Spain in the semi-final.
Richardson becomes Rafaelle Palladino’s sixth signing of his Fiorentina tenure, following the additions of Moise Kean, Marin Pongracic, Andrea Colpani on loan with option to buy, Nicolas Valentini and former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea.
Fiorentina get their Serie A campaign underway this weekend with a trip to newly-promoted Parma, kicking off at 17.30 BST on Saturday evening.

I remember his dad playing for Livorno all those years ago. Twist of fate to have your kid end up playing at a club only an hour away from where you played basketball.
