Fiorentina confirm the signing of Marin Pongracic from Lecce.

The Croatia international joins the Tuscans for a reported €15m transfer fee plus €1m add-ons.

“ACF Fiorentina has announced the signing of Marin Pongracic on a permanent transfer from U.S. Lecce,” the Viola said in a statement.

“Pongracic was born on September 11, 1997, in Landshut, Germany. Other than representing Lecce he has played for Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg.

“Our new defender has also been capped ten times by the Croatia senior national team and was part of his country’s squad at Euro 2024.”

Pongracic was on the verge of joining French club Rennes, but Fiorentina hijacked their bid after sending Nikola Milenkovic to Nottingham Forest.
