Fiorentina have announced the signing of Argentine defender German Pezzella from Real Betis on loan with an option to buy.
Reports suggest Fiorentina have retained a €10m purchase option for Pezzella, who will not occupy a non-EU spot as he holds an Italian passport.
“ACF Fiorentina announce they have signed on loan, with an option to buy, the sporting rights of player German Pezzella from Real Betis Balompie,” read a statement on the Viola’s official website.

“Pezzella, born in Bahia Blanca (Argentina) on June 27, 1991, has worn, in addition to Betis’ jersey, that of River Plate, with which he won the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, the Recopa Sudamericana and an Argentine League. He played 37 games last season, scoring one goal.
“Pezzella also boasts 20 caps and 3 goals in the shirt of his country’s Under-20 team.
“The Argentine player, who arrived last night in Florence, will undergo medical tests today.”
