Fiorentina have confirmed the signing of Fabiano Parisi from Empoli, while Cristiano Biraghi has extended until June 2025.

The Tuscans have confirmed the signing of the U21 Italy international on their official website and social media accounts.

“ACF Fiorentina is delighted to announce the signing of Fabiano Parisi from Empoli FC on a permanent contract,” the club said in a statement.

“Born in Solofra, Campania on 9 November 2000, the 22-year-old defender has played 58 games and scored two goals in Serie A.

“Parisi has made 11 appearances with one goal for Italy U21s and received his first call-up to the senior Azzurri squad last season.”

The deal is believed to be worth €10m plus €1m add-ons.

The Italian defender will challenge his compatriot Cristiano Biraghi for a starting spot at the Stadio Franchi in 2023-24. Fiorentina also announced Biraghi’s extension until 2025 with an option until 2026.
