Fiorentina have officially signed Maxime Lopez from Sassuolo on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season, effectively replacing Sofyan Amrabat, who is having his Manchester United medical.
The Serie A transfer window shuts at 19.00 UK time (18.00 GMT).
Clubs are rushing to get deals done and Fiorentina announced they have secured midfielder Maxime Lopez on loan from Sassuolo with an option to buy at the end of the season.
It is reported the option is worth circa €9m to make the move permanent.
The 25-year-old was not in the Sassuolo squad for this evening’s Serie A trip to Verona because he was sitting out a ban.
Maxime Lopez is a product of the Olympique Marseille academy and joined Sassuolo on loan in 2020, making it permanent a year later for €2.5m.
He made 101 appearances in the Neroverdi jersey, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
The Frenchman is the replacement for Amrabat, who is having his medical in Italy this evening for the loan move to Manchester United, with option to buy for a total of €35m.
Wow, how uninspiring
