Official: Fiorentina sign Jovic from Real Madrid

Fiorentina have officially signed Luka Jovic on a free transfer after Real Madrid cut their ties with him.

The 24-year-old Serbian forward has signed a two-year contract with the Viola with a two-year extension clause attached that could see his wages doubled from €2.5m net per season to €5m net.

Real Madrid released Jovic on a free transfer, paying him €5m across two years in severance, but his move to Fiorentina includes a 50% future resale clause in favour of Los Blancos.

Jovic struggled to impress in the Spanish capital after making a €63m move from Eintracht Frankfurt back in July 2019. He only scored three goals and provided five assists in 51 appearances for Real Madrid during his time at the club, failing to hit the heights seen in Germany.

For Eintracht Frankfurt, Jovic netted 40 goals and provided 10 assists in 93 games. He’ll be hoping to relaunch his career in Florence after a difficult few years.
