Fiorentina have confirmed the surprise signing of Torino midfielder Marco Benassi on a five-year contract.
A statement on Fiorentina’s official website adds Benassi will arrive in Tuscany on Wednesday and undergo a medical with the club, prior to signing on.
The 23-year-old spent three seasons at Torino, becoming their captain last season and also taking on the armband for Italy Under-21s.
He will go some way towards filling the voids left by Borja Valero and Matias Valero, both of whom have joined Inter.

A fee for Benassi remains undisclosed by the Viola, but Firenzeviola.it claims they will pay €10m plus bonuses.
