Fiorentina have officially signed striker Lucas Beltran from River Plate in a deal reported to be worth €12m plus another €10m in various add-ons.

The centre-forward flew in over the weekend and completed his medical tests before putting pen to paper on a contract to June 2028.

He is expected to earn circa €1.8m per season in wages.

A product of the River Plate youth academy, the 22-year-old represented Argentina at Under-20 level, but is also eligible to play for Italy due to his Italian heritage.

So far this season, Beltran has scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 35 competitive games for River Plate.

It is reported to be an agreement to make the purchase for €12m plus up to a further €10m in performance-related bonuses.

Beltran has already been introduced to his new fans and teammates, attending a friendly match against OFI Crete at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

In other news, Fiorentina have also officially sold goalkeeper Michele Cerofolini to Frosinone.
