Juventus have officially announced the arrival of Carlos Alcaraz from Southampton, confirming the details behind the transfer.

The 21-year-old Argentinian midfielder has shone over the last 12 months with the Saints, scoring eight goals and providing five assists across 47 total appearances, attracting the attention of the Bianconeri and other clubs around Europe.

The arrival of Alcaraz has given a key boost to Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus midfield, which has been depleted this season following the off-pitch troubles of Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli, both of whom are unavailable for the near future.

As confirmed today, Juventus signed Alcaraz from Southampton on a €3.7m loan deal with €1.9m in add-ons attached, as well as €200,000 in additional costs. A €49.5m buy option was also included, payable across three financial years, with add-ons also included.

Reports also suggest that the loan fee is dependant on how much the 21-year-old plays; the more he features, the less the Bianconeri will have to pay.
