The FIGC Court of Appeal has explained the reasons behind Juventus‘ 10-point deduction with ‘personal responsibility’ of Fabio Paratici, Andrea Agnelli, Maurizio Arrivabene and Federico Cherubini leading to a penalty for the Bianconeri.

It refers to the first FIGC trial looking into Juventus’ inflated transfer values. The original 15-point penalty from January was reduced to a 10-point deduction only a few weeks ago and FIGC have now explained the reason behind the penalty.

CONI Collegio Di Garanzia had scrapped the original 15-point sentence, demanding a clearer verdict from FIGC, which has now arrived.

Former Juventus’ CFO Fabio Paratici has been banned for 30 months and his responsibility has been quantified in a four-point penalty for Juve.

The former President Agnelli has been banned for 24 months, corresponding to a three-point penalty. Ex-CEO Arrivabene has also been banned for two years but in this case, the resulting penalty for Juve is two points, while Cherubini’s 16-month ban has led to a one-point sentence.

FIGC add that the new ruling has been taken “in an equitable perspective, meeting afflictive, proportional and reasonable criteria.”

Juventus won’t appeal the decision, as director Francesco Calvo confirmed on Sunday night.

Juventus are now waiting for the outcome of a second sporting trial after agreeing to a plea bargain on Monday night.
