The local authorities in Rome have ordered the away end shut and no tickets sold to any resident of the Netherlands when Roma host Feyenoord in the Europa League quarter-final.

The first leg will be in Rotterdam on April 13, with the decider at the Stadio Olimpico on April 20.

As expected, meetings between the local authorities in the Eternal City resulted in a total clampdown on all Feyenoord fans who might even consider visiting for the second leg.

The away end will be shut at the Stadio Olimpico and all ticket sales for any sections are banned for people who are residents of the Netherlands.

This is because of incidents that already occurred in the build-up to their Europa League match in February 2015, which resulted in six fans found guilty of vandalising the historic Barcaccia fountain in Piazza Navona, which dates back to the 17th Century.

The damage caused took thousands of Euros to fix and the Dutch Government called their Italian counterparts to apologise.

Hundreds of Feyenoord fans were also stopped for vandalising property and urinating in public.

The alert level remains high, as naturally many Dutch fans have already booked flights and hotels in the Italian Capital.
