Napoli reveal their midfielder Fabian Ruiz has tested positive for COVID for the second time in less than a year.

“Fabian Ruiz has tested positive for COVID-19 after taking a PCR test in Spain,” a club statement read.

“The midfielder, who is vaccinated, is asymptomatic and is now self-isolating at home.”

The Spaniard had missed Napoli’s last four games with a muscular injury which he sustained in an away clash against Sassuolo on December 1.

Luciano Spalletti’s side will face Juventus at the Allianz Stadium when Serie A resumes after the Christmas break on January 6.

This is the second time that Fabian has tested positive for COVID. The first time was in January 2021 and he was forced to miss the Italian Supercup Final against the Old Lady.
