Alberico Evani will take charge of the Italy Under-21s for their two March friendlies, the FIGC has confirmed.
Luigi Di Biagio is the Azzurrini CT, but he’ll be taking charge of the senior team for the friendlies with Argentina and England, as Giampiero Ventura still hasn’t been replaced.
It was immediately rumoured that the former Under-20s boss would make the step up and take charge of the team against Norway and Serbia.

“It will be Alberico Evani to guide the Under-21 national team for the two friendlies with Norway [in Perugia] and Serbia [Novi Sad] scheduled respectively for Thursday 22 and Tuesday 22 of March,” the FIGC confirmed on their official website.
“Evani, who has been in the technical quadrant of the FIGC since 2010, has held the role of Coach of the Under-18s, Under-19s and Under-20s, with whom he achieved third-pace at the World Cup in 2017 in South Korea, before becoming part of the staff for the senior national team.
“In the next two games he’ll replace Luigi Di Biagi on the Azzurrini bench, as he has in turn been called to the bench of the senior national team for the March friendlies with Argentina and England.”
