Official: Empoli midfielder Asllani joins Inter

Inter have officially signed Kristjan Asllani from Empoli for a total €14m, with Martin Satriano set to join the Tuscans on loan.

The Nerazzurri continue to revamp their squad this summer with new signings and Asllani is seen as the back-up to Marcelo Brozovic in midfield.

It is a loan worth €4m with obligation to buy for a further €10m, signing a contract to June 2027.

Still only 20 years of age, Asllani was born in Albania and moved to Italy as a child to follow his father, who had arrived on a refugee boat to find work.

The player came through the Empoli youth academy and helped them to promotion in 2019-20 before securing their Serie A status this season.

He made 23 Serie A appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

Asllani is two-footed and plays in midfield, becoming the second Albanian player in Inter’s history after striker Rey Manaj.

His medical was held yesterday, but somewhat overshadowed by the arrival of Romelu Lukaku.
