Empoli have officially announced the return of Aurelio Andreazzoli as their head coach for next season.
Andreazzoli replaces Davide Dionisi who brought the Tuscans to Serie A before moving to Sassuolo.
Empoli announced Andreazzoli has signed a one-year deal at the Stadio Castellani with an option for one more season.
The 67-year-old returns to the club for the third time in his career.
He gained Serie A promotion in 2017-18, but was sacked after the first 11 games in Italy’s top flight.
He returned to the club on that same season to replace Giuseppe Iachini, but he could not manage to avoid relegation to Serie B.
