Empoli have officially signed Ardian Ismajli on a permanent transfer from Spezia, sending Samuel Mraz and Dimitrios Nikolaou the other way.

The double deal was completed this evening, although it had been in the works for several days.

Albania international defender Ismajli turns 25 next month and joined Spezia from Hajduk Split last summer at a cost of €2.2m, making his Serie A debut.

Meanwhile, Empoli sell both Greek defender Nikolaou and Slovakia international striker Mraz to Spezia in exchange.

Nikolaou turns 23 this week and has one senior cap under his belt for Greece.

Empoli signed him from Olympiacos in the summer of 2019 for €4m and he was a regular in the side that earned promotion from Serie B last season.

Mraz is 24 and has one goal in four senior caps for Slovakia, spending last season on loan in Poland with Zaglebie Lubin.

He also had previous loan spells with Crotone and Brondby.
