Roma have officially signed Stephan El Shaarawy on loan from Milan, via Monaco, with an option to buy for €13m.

The forward landed in Rome last night and had a series of medicals today, then took part in the afternoon training session with his new teammates.

The transfer was made official this evening, as the club is floated on the stock market and had to wait for the deadline.

The Little Pharaoh arrives on loan until June 30 2016 at a cost of €1.4m.

The Little Pharaoh arrives on loan until June 30 2016 at a cost of €1.4m.

This deal includes an option to buy from next season for a further €13m. He will wear shirt Number 22.

“I’ve joined Roma to show what I can do – to myself, the Coach and the Italian game as a whole,” he told Roma TV.

“I hope to repay the faith the club is showing in me and therefore I want to give 100 per cent when I play to try and achieve great things here.”

El Shaarawy had been on loan at Monaco with an option to buy that would become mandatory after 25 appearances, but he only played 24 games.
