Giovanni Di Lorenzo has officially extended his contract with Napoli to June 2026, definitively silencing the Manchester United rumours.

The versatile defender is primarily a right-back, but can also play on the left or as a centre-back.

As expected, Di Lorenzo and Napoli have extended his contract until June 2026.

Although there had been rumours of interest from Manchester United, the Italian media were confident that he would remain at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Di Lorenzo turns 28 next month and joined Napoli from Empoli in the summer of 2019 for €8m.

He impressed for Italy during UEFA EURO 2020, filling in at right-back for injured Alessandro Florenzi, taking his tally up to 13 senior caps for the Nazionale.

During the 2020-21 season, he made 49 competitive appearances for Napoli, scoring four goals and providing eight assists.

Di Lorenzo spent most of his career in the lower divisions, not making his Serie A debut until Empoli’s promotion in the 2018-19 campaign.
