Napoli have officially signed Diego Demme from RB Leipzig in a deal worth a reported €13m.
The 28-year-old midfielder had his medical on Friday and put pen to paper on the contract in Rome today.
It was confirmed by a tweet from President Aurelio De Laurentiis: “Welcome Diego!”
Demme was enthusiastic about the idea of this move, because although he was born and raised in Germany, his father is Italian and a passionate Napoli supporter.
In fact, Demme was named Diego after Napoli legend Diego Armando Maradona.
