David De Gea has passed his Fiorentina medical and signed a one-year contract with option to extend for another season.
The goalkeeper had been out of the game for over a year, since his contract with Manchester United was allowed to expire in June 2023, as he could not find a suitable project.
That changed this summer, as he was in talks with several Serie A sides, including Genoa and Monza, before agreeing personal terms with Fiorentina.
The Spaniard underwent his medical today in Florence and put pen to paper on the deal.
De Gea returns to football for Fiorentina
It is reported to be a one-year contract at €1m salary plus bonuses, with an option to extend for double the wages in 2025-26.
He will hold a presentation press conference at the Viola Park training centre on Monday August 12.
The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper will turn 34 in November and has 45 senior caps for Spain.
De Gea amassed 415 Premier League appearances, 57 in LaLiga and 55 in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina have officially sent striker M’Bala Nzola to RC Lens on loan with an option to buy for €9m.
