Patrick Cutrone has officially joined Como on a permanent deal from Wolverhampton, signing a three-year deal with the Serie B side.

Cutrone is back home as he was born in Como on January 3, 1998. He has completed a permanent transfer to the club which acquired ex-Chelsea and Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas this summer.

“He’s home! Como 1907 is pleased to announce the signing of striker Patrick Cutrone from Wolverhampton on a three-year contract,” the Serie B side said in an official statement.

“Being able to play and represent the club of my city is a real honour. This is where I grew up, where I first kicked a ball, where my heart is, where my family and friends are,” the ex-Milan striker said.

“Being able to return here as a footballer is one of the greatest joys. For this reason, the negotiations were short, as soon as I heard about Como I had no doubts it was the right move. Of course I have followed the clubs journey and I know many of the team already. Serie B is a very difficult league but I am convinced that we have the right team in place. We will take it match, by match but I am confident we will have a good championship.”

Cutrone spent the last season on loan at Empoli but struggled to have an impact a the Stadio Castellani, where he scored three goals in 31 appearances. He had joined Wolves in a €20m deal from Milan in the summer of 2019 but only netted three goals in 28 appearances in England.

He has also played for Fiorentina and Valencia. The Italy international scored 27 goals in 90 appearances with Milan.

Como picked up two draws in the first two Serie B games of the season.
