Tottenham have officially appointed former Inter and Juventus coach Antonio Conte who has signed a contract until June 2023.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Antonio Conte as our Head Coach on a contract until the summer of 2023, with an option to extend,” the club wrote in a statement.

The Italian tactician left Inter in the summer after winning his fourth Serie A title as a coach, the first one in 11 years for the Nerazzurri.

He had been in talks with Manchester United over replacing Ole Gunnar Solskajer, but the Red Devils decided against asking their coach, paving the way for Conte’s agreement with Tottenham.

The former Inter, Juventus and Italy tactician was hired after Nuno Espirito Santo’s sacking. Conte has signed a contract until June 2023 in North London.

Conte, 52, will reportedly earn circa €1m per month and has already set his sights on several Serie A stars, especially Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic and Milan wantaway Franck Kessié.

Conte won a Premier League title and an FA Cup during his two-year spell at Chelsea. His first game in charge of Spurs could be on Thursday against Vitesse or on Sunday against Everton.
