Juventus have announced that Andrea Cambiaso signed a new contract until June 2029, despite interest from Aston Villa.

The Italy international’s current deal had been due to run until June 2027, but he added another two years and practically doubled his salary following fine performances this season.

The left-back contributed three goals and six assists in 39 competitive games, helping Juve to win the Coppa Italia against Atalanta with his assist for the Dusan Vlahovic goal.

His season is already over, as he will be suspended for the final round of the Serie A campaign over an accumulation of yellow cards.

Cambiaso commits to Juventus

The 24-year-old was signed from Genoa in 2022 for €13.3m and immediately loaned to Bologna, earning himself a recall to Turin for this term.

Cambiaso had been heavily linked with an approach from Aston Villa, who were reportedly prepared to pay €40m to sign him this summer.

Instead, he put pen to paper today on a new contract holding him to Juventus until June 2029.
