Marcelo Brozovic has officially extended his contract with Inter to June 2026, reportedly earning €6.5m per season plus bonuses.

The 29-year-old was down to the final months of his deal, which was due to expire on June 30.

Although he was able to negotiate with other clubs, with interest from Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona and Real Madrid, the Croatia international always said his preference was to remain with the Nerazzurri.

He has been at the club since January 2015, signed from Dinamo Zagreb for €8m.

According to reports, ‘Epic Brozo’ has put pen to paper on a contract worth €6.5m per season plus €1m in performance-related bonuses.

Inter dropped hints about the announcement on social media using the emoji of a crocodile, which has become something of a symbol for Brozovic.

It is what people in Italy named the technique of lying down behind the defensive wall for a free kick, which Brozovic was one of the first in Serie A to do.

  1. Knowing Inter, I can’t help but feel like this is a bargaining chip so they can demand a bigger transfer fee. I wish Milan were more savvy like this.

  2. Excellent news! With Hakan and Kessie leaving on a free, this is the difference between the 2 milanese clubs.
