Brighton and Hove Alboin have officially announced the arrival of defender Igor in a definitive transfer from Fiorentina.
The 25-year-old Brazilian centre back has joined the Seagulls in a deal reported to be worth around €17m with a further €3m in add-ons. He has penned a four-year contract with the Premier League side.
Igor initially joined Fiorentina from SPAL in loan in January 2020 before making a permanent move 18 months later, signing for around €7.5m. He made 110 appearances across all competitions for the club, including in the Conference League final against West Ham.
As announced today, Igor has now officially joined Brighton on a four-year deal and will join his new teammates next week, when they return from the pre-season tour in the United States.
Igor was a key target of coach Roberto De Zerbi, appreciated for both his defensive qualities and ability to play the ball from out the back.
