Brentford have officially signed Aaron Hickey from Bologna, handing the Scottish talent a four-year contract.
The 20-year-old Scottish full back shined last season under Sinisa Mihajlovic, scoring five goals and providing four assist in 36 Serie A appearances. He proved himself capable and comfortable with consistent first team football, regularly matching up and holding his own against experienced professionals.
As announced by Bologna, Hickey has now completed a transfer to Brentford, giving him the chance to shine in the Premier League.
Reports suggest that the Scot will be given a four-year contract and the deal cost around €22m. The transfer represents a great piece of business for Bologna, who signed the 20-year-old from Hearts of Midlothian for around €2m back in September 2020.
Brentford seems like the right jump for Hickey to make at this stage in his career, giving him the chance to taste the intensity of the Premier League after a couple of years of first team experience with Bologna.
