Bologna vs. Inter has been declared abandoned, so the Nerazzurri should get a 3-0 win by default, but the Rossoblu will likely lodge an appeal and win it.

Inter arrived at the Stadio Dall’Ara this morning for a game that they knew would not be played.

Bologna have been ordered into quarantine for five days by the local health authority, so players are not allowed to leave their homes and, let alone, go to the stadium and play against another team.

Marotta hopes for compulsory COVID vaccine and ‘more clarity’

Inter warmed up at the Stadio Dall’Ara, knowing they would not play the game.

The referee waited for 45 minutes before declaring the game abandoned.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta demanded more clarity from the Government, asking to reduce the ASL’s authority in terms of barring players and clubs from playing.

He also added that the vaccine booster should be mandatory for all athletes to avoid long quarantines in the future.

Lega Serie A has approved a new Serie A protocol today and three more games will be abandoned: FiorentinaUdinese, AtalantaTorino and Salernitana-Udinese.

  1. What cheap tactics. At a time when a new Covid want is rampaging through Europe, Inter has put its players and staff at risk just to set they could have the bragging rights to show they “turned up” & claim the three points. But that apart the Governmental agencies need to have better coordination.

  2. Good performance and solid win. I thought the first quarter was a bit one-sided but gradually the game got better. Bologna stood no chance though. On to the next!

  3. Imagine a home game without the home team. Perhaps a protocol to allow the visiting team not to risk the travel?

  4. @ Kd – come off the high horse, this game will be replayed at a later date. Inter only showed up to avoid the risk of them being accused of not showing up

  5. What? No! This should have been an easy win against this pretender team. What did I miss??? Maybe Sinisa is missing some motivational skills after all?

  6. We have some stupid comments here. Let’s make it clear, the stadium and the travel are not at risk, the outbreak happens in Bologna‘s HQ that’s why they’re not allowed to play.
