Official: Bologna sign Schouten

Bologna have officially signed Dutch attacking midfielder Jerdy Schouten from SBV Excelsior for a reported €2.5m.

The deal was confirmed in a brief statement on Bologna’s website.

It is understood the Rossoblu have paid €2.5m to sign the 22-year-old, who had also interested Genoa and Champions League qualifiers Atalanta.

The 22-year-old came through the ADO Den Haag academy and only joined Excelsior last summer.

He made 34 appearances for the Rotterdam side, scoring one goal and providing two assists, although he could not help prevent their relegation from the Eredivisie.
