Bologna have officially announced the arrival of new defender Juan Miranda as a free agent from Real Betis.
The centre-back was a free agent after his contract with the club expired on June 30, but had already undergone his medical some days before that.
In recent years, he had also been heavily linked with a move to Milan, who refused to pay the asking price when he was still under contract.
By the time he became a free agent, the Rossoneri had already turned their focus in other directions.
Miranda’s path to Bologna and Serie A
Miranda came up through the Barcelona youth academy, with spells at Schalke 04 and Real Betis, joining the latter for free in the summer of 2021.
The 24-year-old also has one goal in one senior cap for Spain and plays as a central defender or left-back, so is effectively a replacement for Riccardo Calafiori.
That is because Calafiori is close to joining Arsenal for circa €50m, although Chelsea and Juventus remain in the race.
