Bologna have officially announced the signing of centre-back Nicolo Casale on loan from Lazio for the duration of the 2024-25 season with an obligation to buy under certain sporting conditions.

The Rossoblu have agreed to pay a fee of €1.5m to sign the 26-year-old on loan for the season and will have to pay a further €7.5m to make the move permanent. 

Casale made 50 Serie A appearances during his time with Lazio, plus a further 12 across the Coppa Italia and Champions League. He also played a full season in the top flight with Hellas Verona in 2021-22. 

He becomes Bologna’s 10th new signing of the summer, including loans. 

Vincenzo Italiano, in his first summer with Bologna, has also added Thijs Dallinga to his ranks, as well as Nicolo Cambiaghi, Emil Holm, Martin Erlic, Benjamin Dominguez and Naïm Byar, plus the loan signings of Juan Miranda from Real Betis, Samuel Iling-Junior from Aston Villa and Tommaso Pobega from Milan.
