Bologna have officially signed Nicolò Cambiaghi from Atalanta on a permanent basis for a reported €10m fee plus bonuses.
The 23-year-old spent the last two seasons on loan at Empoli, where he scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 66 competitive games.
A product of the Atalanta youth academy, he is a support striker who can also play on the right or left wing.
There was also interest from Lazio, Genoa, Parma and Como, but Bologna completed the swoop, so he will be in the Champions League this season.
The cost of the operation is said to be circa €10m plus add-ons.
In his career, Cambiaghi has seven goals and seven assists in 65 Serie A appearances.
