Andrea Belotti has officially joined Fiorentina on loan from Roma, giving him a fresh start for the second half of this season.

The 30-year-old Italian striker has joined Vincenzo Italiano’s Viola on a six-month loan deal worth around €750,000, with no buy option attached. He has struggled for regular minutes with the Giallorossi this term, making just six Serie A starts across 14 appearances.

Fiorentina signed M’Bala Nzola from Spezia last summer for around €12m to bolster their frontline and have been left disappointed by the Angolan striker’s work, netting just four goals in 1640 minutes of action across 30 games in all competitions.

As confirmed today, Belotti has now officially joined Fiorentina and will slot into Italiano’s squad ahead of their Serie A clash with Lecce on February 2. He did not need to undergo a new round of medicals, with the Viola satisfied with test results shown from the summer and recent months.

The Italian striker’s time at Roma has been fairly disappointing following his arrival on a free transfer 18 months ago, managing just 10 goals in 68 games.
