Bayern Munich have officially announced they will take up their option to sign Kingsley Coman permanently from Juventus.

The winger has spent the last two seasons on loan in Bavaria, with the option to make the deal permanent for €21m.

“Before the away match with Wolfsburg on Saturday, an important personnel decision was made by Bayern Munich,” the Bundesliga club announced on their official website.

“The Bundesliga leaders have agreed to take up their option with Juventus which expires at the end of April for Kingsley Coman.

“The 20-year-old French international, who left Juventus to join Bayern on loan in 2015 will remain in Munich beyond the end of this season. Coman's new contract runs until 30.06.2020.”

CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also commented on the deal.

“Kingsley Coman is an important building block for the future of our team so we decided to exercise our option.

“He is a player with huge potential. We're convinced that he will be of great help to us in the coming years.”
