Juventus‘ friendly game against Barcelona has been cancelled ‘due to a viral gastroenteritis among a significant part of the Barça squad.’

The Catalans confirmed that the game won’t be played with a statement published on their official website on Saturday. It was supposed to kick off on July 23 at 4:30 CEST (July 22 in the USA) at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

“FC Barcelona hereby informs that the game against Juventus FC, scheduled for today, July 22 at 7:30 PM at Levi’s Stadium, as part of the Soccer Champions Tour, has been cancelled,” the Catalans said.

“A significant part of the Blaugrana squad has viral gastroenteritis.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Bianconeri will train in San Francisco and may change their schedule, flying to Los Angeles earlier. They will face Serie A rivals Milan on July 28 at 4:30 CEST at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Los Angeles County.

Their second and final game of this year’s summer pre-season tour in the USA is against Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid on August 3 at 1:30 CEST at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.

Juventus had taken off from Turin’ Caselle Airport for San Francisco on Friday afternoon without players on the market including Leonardo Bonucci and Denis Zakaria who have remained in Turin waiting to join a new club for 2023-24.
