Milan have officially announced Tiemoue Bakayoko’s arrival from Chelsea on loan with an option to buy.

The midfielder, who spent last term on loan at Napoli, has signed a deal with the Rossoneri and is back on a two-year paid loan with an option to buy with conditions.

“AC Milan are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko from Chelsea FC on a two-year loan, which could turn into an obligation if certain conditions are met,” the club wrote in an official statement.

“Born in Paris on August 17, 1994, Tiémoué Bakayoko started his professional career at Rennes and then played for Monaco, Chelsea and Napoli before coming back to AC Milan, where he had already played during the 2018/19 season, featuring 42 times and scoring one goal.”

Bakayoko carried out his medical examinations yesterday and signed the contract at Casa Milan today. The contract was filed at the Lega Serie A and Bakayoko’s return is official.

Bakayoko played 44 times with Napoli last term and helped the club finish fifth in Serie A, one point behind the Champions League places.

He arrived at Chelsea from Monaco in July 2017 for a reported €40m but has not managed to establish himself with the Londoners, who went all the way in the 2020-21 Champions League.

  1. Always found him hard working but very sluggish and slow for a midfielder. I don’t see him being a starter but could be useful late in games to protect a lead.

  2. RossoNero83 Yeah he’s a useless player but the fact that he played for Monaco, Chelsea, Milan, Napoli and back to Milan makes him 100 times more useful than you can ever be. What do you do bro?
